01 IAA - international motor show in Frankfurt 99 years it's been that Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz independently constructed their first motor car. The car has changed not only the world and the lives of many people - it is still fascinating. As at each fair, the news be admired also in Frankfurt.
The ancestor in the original: Daimler's motorcycle and cutting-edge technology of today by the same company.
The focus this time: the catalyst for exhaust gas cleaning. Since the German Government in 1983 called the low-emission car for the protection of the environment, competing domestic and foreign manufacturers in terms of cleanliness.
Of course, also the most expensive car in the exhibition has a catalyst. Proud price of the Porsche 959: DM 450.000,--.
In Frankfurt, it became clear: the industry adapts to the demands of the time. Modern cars are not only powerful, quick and convenient, they are also quieter, longer-lasting, cleaner and safer than their predecessors. The electronics moves into the car. The prophecies of the impending death of the car have been muted. The transactions go well, new optimism comes up: the car is 99 years young.

06. choir camp the Mariannenplatz in Berlin. 500 young people from East and West for a street celebration. They have one thing in common: the love of music.
The next day at the Waldbühne, the large Open-Air Theater in Berlin. The 'European year of music' is to be celebrated with the "European Youth Orchestra" and a 500-voice choir. For this reason, Berlin had invited the young singer to a "choir camp" to prepare a festive performance. It was an acclaimed beginning of the annual Festival conducted by Claudio Abbado.
On the program: The resurrection Symphony by Gustav Mahler. Not an easy work for the young musicians and their audiences.
1987 everything should be even bigger: a choir camp with a World Youth Orchestra to be founded in Berlin.
