For 12 months the Free World has been fighting the Communist agressors. The history of the war in Korea has revealed to the Free Nations the real intentions of Communism. On June 25,1950 after long und thorough preparations the troops of Communist North Korea invaded the South Korean Republic which has been founded under a plebiscite of the United Nations. With Soviet weapons they over-ran the weak defenses of South Korea.
The United Nations, headed by the USA rushed to help the Republic Reinforcements of the UN-Troops freed South Korea and threw back the Communist agressor troops as far as the Mandchurian border. The North Korean armies has been split. Then Red China interfered With a great superiority in numbers, the enemy were able to push back the troops of the United Nations, losing, however, a great number of its soldiers. Then in June 1951, the UN-Troops took the offensive. The Red-Chinese troops were driven back, destroyed. The war in Korea is a symbol of the will of the Free World, united in the United Nations against Communist agressors. Under the flag of the United Nations troops of 17 nations fight for the freedom of the world. One year in Korea means: One year of death - one year of misery and destruction. However, it also meant one year of an united battle for the freedom of every nation and each one of its citizens. The free world fights on Korean soil and mobilizes the powers of its fatherland. In the soldiers' cemetery in Pusan are buried those who had to die in the battle for a free and peaceful world against Communist agression. After his state visit to Italy, Bundes Chancellor Dr. Adenauer spoke at the Bavarian Party Day of the CSU in Bad Reichenhall. He appealed to the German people, saying that Germany has to take a stand to show a clear and decisive policy. About Communism he said:
