01 his 100th birthday updates soon celebrated a. 100 years Hagenbeck in Hamburg the world-famous Carl Hagenbeck Zoo.
The anniversary was with the participation of many friends and guests of the company with the opening of an exhibition "100 years Carl Hagenbeck" committed.
The current senior chief: Lorenz Hagenbeck was the focus of the honours and hilarious celebration.
With seals, the Hamburg fishmonger Gottfried Clas Carl Hagenbeck began his small animal trade, which reached later international proportions in 1848.

b. student meeting, England, students from twelve European countries met in the old English university town of Oxford. The Oxford student committees Bonn and Austria gave the impetus for this meeting. Germany and Austria were represented with fifty delegates from the universities of Bonn and Vienna.
The lectures and discussions dealt with student problems of the present and the future. Joint excursions and visits to traditional English sites gave opportunity to initiate personal relationships. 02. camp Moschendorf: Returnees, refugees, cross-border...
Many lives intersection is the Moschendorf at Court, a shanty town, go through the thousands of returnees, refugees and illegal border crossers. For the returnees, the camp is the last stop, the wide trip to home, staying two or three days and get "the discharge papers as well as gifts of the Red Cross.

04. sports: a. race, Hockenheim, Germany start the 500cc solo machines Home Circuit race in Hockenheim near Heidelberg. The race, the fastest in Europe, was surrounded by 250,000 spectators.
You saw many new designs in motorcycles and cars. There were numerous records at this 10th Hockenheim race.
Georg Meier on BMW was the best rider of the day. He absolutely fastest lap at 168 miles an hour and won the race of the 500cc machines and the racing cars.
The sports car over 1,500 cc was 77 kilometres over ten rounds right.
The new designs of BMW were in the lead. Winner was Karl Kling, Stuttgart, on BMW-Veritas. He drove the astonishing average of 161.5 kilometers per hour.

b. German Rugby the first German Rugby Championship was held in Hanover, Germany after the war. It fought Victoria - Hanover (striped dress) and Berlin-Wilmersdorf, formerly BSV 92.
The Hanoverians were in top form; they always had the game in hand and proved that Hanover is still the stronghold of German Rugby sports.
At halftime it was 16-0 to Hannover; the final score was 33-0 to Hannover. A unique result for a championship fight.

5th German championship in the heavyweight division: ten Hoff Kaiser proposes k.o fight to the German championship in the heavyweight division.
In the Berlin Olympic Stadium the German Champion Hein stood before 50,000 spectators ten Hoff (left) and his challenger: Arno Kölblin opposite.
The first three rounds showed a balanced fight without highlights.
In the 4th round, ten Hoff is slightly superior. After a heavy head shot must Kaiser to the ground.

a. 100th Anniversary, Hagenbeck
Carl Hagenbeck's Zoo at Hamburg celebrates its 100th anniversary with a show called "100 Years Carl Hagenbeck." The present Senior Director, Lorenz Hagenbeck, was the centre of honours and festivities. In 1848 the Hamburg fish dealer Gottfried Clas Carl Hagenbeck opened an animal shop with seals. This establishment later became internationally famous. And again, 100 years later, seals were called to bring the animals' greetings.

b. Students Rally, England
Students from 12 European countries held a meeting at the old English University town of Oxford. The Oxford Students Committee, Bonn and Austria suggested this rally. Germany and Austria were represented by 50 delegates from the Universities of Bonn and Vienna. Problems of present and future students' life were discussed, visits to traditional English places were made, for instance Stratford-on-Avon, the historical-romantic birth-place of William Shakespeare.

c. Dam, Puerto Rico
On the island of Puerto Rico in the Atlantic a gigantic technical project reaches its conclusion after a building term of 7 years. At an altitude of 1,000 meters a power Station was erected to intensify the economic possibilities of this island. The project cost 100 million dollars.

02. Moschendorf, Camp:

Returning POW's and Refusgees ...
Moschendorf Camp is the cross Station for thousands of returning POW's, refugees and people who cross the border illegally. The homecomers stay here for 2 or 3 days and get their discharge papers as well as gifts from the Red Cross. The illegal Wanderers are kept here, then most of them are sent back. For many homeless refugees Moschendorf became a second home. Some have been here for 3 years, and still wait for a home to live in and a place to work. Their children attend a special camp school, and the younger ones are taken of in a Kindergarten.

05. German Championships An Heavyweight:

At Berlin's Olympia Stadium 50,000 fans saw the meeting of the German Champion Hein ten Hoff (left) and his challenger: Arno Kölblin.
The first 3 rounds passed without incident.
In the 4th ten Hoff became agressive. Kölblin goes down.
At "8" he gets up and goes on figthing. The 5th round brings the decision. Hein ten Hoff wins by a k.o.
