In autumn the salmon swim up-river to their spawning grounds. By a skillful stroke the salmon is caught - - but often the salmon is more skillful. And this is another way of fishing. b. Traffic Education
A problem which concerns everybody: to-day there are thrice as many accidents in traffic as before the war - - traffic education can solve this evil. In Frankfurt o/Main the police held a Traffic-Educational Week to educate and instruct the people. One second of carelessness and the casualities will often endure a whole life time. Besides foot-passengers the lessons concern motorists and bicyclists. Everybody has to do his part to eliminate the terrible high rate of accidents. A scholar learns how to direct the stream of vehicles for a quarter of an hour. He demonstrates model traffic regulation.

c. Stoves
There is a lot of old metal and other material spread over Germany. A refugee had the idea of using these treasures. He bought an old anti-aircraft-artillery stand near Lubeck and all motor-car wrooks in the vicinity. He remodeled this AAA stand into a workshop and dismantled the motor-cars. The sheet metal of the cars is used for large-scale production of stoves. The workers are refugees and the stoves are for the refugees. More than 2,500 stoves have already been made of old motor-cars.

d. Turtles
A welcome increase at the Hagenbeck Zoo, Hamburg: 4 monster turtles from the Galapagos Isles arrived here after a long voyage. A friend of the House of Hagenbeck living in Chile gave them to the Zoo. The oldest turtle has a date 200 years old carved on its back. The turtle's life in the Zoo begins with weighing. The whole Warsaw population voluntarily participated in the operations. In an extraordinarily short time whole blocks of houses were erected. The new living districts are extensive. Warsaw, almost entirely destroyed during the war, will be one of the first reconstructed cities in Europe.

06. New flashes from Everywhere:

a. Dachstein
The Dachstein, one of Austria's best known mountains, had no cross on its peak so far. Young boys and girls from Salzburg carried on from cross up to the 3.000 meter high peak. They ascend the steep path in the fog. The cross has to resist many storms and the iron construction is fastened to the ground. A priest blesses the cross which will in future mark the way of many mountaineers. A mess concludes the ceremony on the peak of Dachstein.

b. Clipper Disaster
Here is a report of dramatic rescue from the sea. On its way from Ireland to the U.S.A., the British airship "Bermuda Sky Queen" had to make a forced landing in the ocean 800 miles north-east of Newfoundland. In spite of storm and heavy sea the landing took place near an American weather ship. Owing to the daring rescue operations of the ships crew all 69 passengers including 13 children were saved after 24 hours. In consequence of the heavy sea the air-boat sank shortly afterwards. A rescued passenger thanks the brave ship's crew in the name of all the rescued. In America the passengers and their rescuers had a hearty reception.

c. Rodeo
In the presence of 15,000 spectators, men and women of the Wild West demonstrate in New York Madison Square Garden how to handle animals of the prairies. Sometimes the horses also handle the riders ... and not too easily. And now a wrestling match with a bull. Well, the bull did not lose.
