Every year the Monk's Hill in Salzburg gets a check-over. Rocks are taken off which are loosened by action of the weather. In this way the danger of falling stones is eliminated. The team is set. Under supervision of an expert mountaineer the ropes are fastened. Down the hill an a small board. The rock is examined with a hammer. A dangerous job, suspended between heaven and earth. This Job has been done ever 250 years. And there has never been an accident.
The rock-cleaners are a part of Old Salzburg, and their job combines the romance of the mountains with the safety of the public.

For the second time since the war the Corpus Christi Procession was held in Cologne. The procession started at the cathedral, passed St. Gereon, through the Ring and the damaged city back to the cathedral.
Numerous clerical notables and representatives of the government participated.
On the steps of the cathedral Cardinal Archbishop Dr. Frings blessed the crowd of many thousands.

b. CRALOG
Besides the official efforts to relieve the food situation in Germany many private foreign relief organizations are gradually increasing their activities.
In Berlin the first big CRALOG shipment has arrived ... a gift of clerical and charitable organizations in America.
The foodstuffs were distributed in all four sections by the Berlin Magistrate, only to women with many children, and the poor. Each person received 2 and 1/2 pound of sugar, 2 pounds of flour, and 150 grams of fat.
11.000 mothers received this first CRALOG gift.

c. High Wire Act Kiel
Acrobatics without a safety net or security device! A 450 meter wire goes right up to the tower of the Kiel City Hall. The Atlantic high-wire artists on a "Running-Cat" ride down the rope. The Munich meeting of the Prime Ministers of the three western Zones of occupation was an political event of great importance. The object of this gathering was less the solving of political problems, than the discussion of the more urgent economic questions, those questions which concern the Germans most to-day.
The conference opened with an address of welcome by the Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Hans Ehard.

Then followed reports and speeches on the more urgent problems given by all participants. The main subject of the meeting was: "What can be done to tide Germany over the coming winter?"
In spite of the absence of the Prime Ministers of the eastern Zone, positive results on many subjects were attained. Practical suggestions for the solving of German problems were discussed. A commission of four Prime Ministers will hand these suggestions over to the Allied Control Commission.
